Hire me Hair!!

Before you hand over your resume you've already been given the once over. As much as we like to think were judged on our accomplishments and the lines on our resume thats simply not the case. The way you present yourself is also very important. Of course you got the new outfit and cute shoes but is your hair as put together as your resume?
Choosing hues that are far too unbelievable doesn't send the right message. Natural color choices and placement portray a far more successful look. The obvious no-no, roots. A quick touch up before your interview will make all the difference in the world. Other quick fixes could be as simple as a bang trim. Also check your salons prices for a blow out. Getting your hair washed & styled professionally can be just the touch, plus you may be able to relax a little before the big interview.
One last home run hint is to keep your hands out of your hair! Playing with your hair isn't only distracting it sends a message that you're nervous. So no twirling, flipping, scratching, holding, knotting or running your fingers through your hair!

Oh, and Smile!!

Golden Globes!

Watching the Golden Globes this year you couldn't forget the trouble in Haiti, many celebrities wearing red and gold ribbons to show their support. I, of course, couldn't help but drool over the many beautiful tresses of the celebs. Kate Hudson looked celestial in her white gown and I've always been a fan of curl clusters! The ever-gorgeous Emily Blunt looked fabulous with the color contrast of hair and dress, a wave worn down has its own class of sophistication. Another great paring of dress and hair contrast was Fergie with a more relaxed wave, gorgeous.
Sandra Bullock was in her own fashion world with her faux bob paired with beautiful drop earrings! Her wave unlike many others was all pinned under and off to one side to give a relaxed connotation. Sandra also chose to wear a magnificent shade of purple with a sheer back that highlighted her frame flawlessly! Ms. Penelope Cruz looked stunning in her black dress! Her wave was out of this world perfected on one side the other was smoothed back with a bobby pin. The bobby pin in question was not bedazzled or beautified in any way which is why, personally, I would have preferred either a classy simple pin with some sort of appeal or nothing at all. Such a plain pin without any ornamentation seems to be such a nuisance, catching your eye but not in a good way. The one and only flaw in a seamless look. It was so refreshing to see Ginnifer Goodwin come out in some COLOR!!! She looked phenomenal with her pixie cut! A pair of dazzling drop earrings highlighted her face and were striking against the blue gown.
As for my favorite look of the evening Jane Krakowski was divine! Wearing color was a definite bonus this year. Many seemed to sport the pale/champagne colorless look, which can be fab, but kudos to those that stepped outside of the box an braved striking bold beautiful colors! Jane sported fun tight twisty curls that gathered into a marvelous cluster at her nape. The varying shades of blonde picked up the light so well as they tousled their way all over and back to a calm carefree look, having a few pieces down also gave it an effortless glamour. Her skin looked radiant with the one shouldered deep purple gown! All topped off with a glorious diamond bracelet! Bravo Jane Bravo!

iron bags!

for any girl on the go we all know how frustrating it is to wait for your curling iron to cool down before you can throw it in your suitcase, drawer, or before your 2 foot monsters are allowed to freely roam the bathroom. very few are lucky enough to get an iron bag with their curling iron purchase, but for those of you who aren't, i've made them! using different fabrics with heat resistant lining you can insert your iron after you unplug it. throw it in a drawer and you don't have to worry about melting anything else!

all seams have been hidden so the iron only comes in contact with the heat resistant fabric. there's no seam bottom so no worry about it pushing out. velcro strap to secure your iron in place. outer pocket to tuck in the cord or store a comb. so great to toss anywhere! many different fabrics, colors and designs! save yourself a few minutes of worry when getting ready!

my newest obsession

now that summer has come to an end it's time to repair all the damage that chlorine and sun has done to your hair. not to mention your iron for all those summer parties! Moroccanoil is amazing. the ends of your hair that feels so dry and damaged you think there's no fixing it, there is. this miracle oil turns brittle dry hair to silky soft totally touchable beautiful hair.

after shampooing and conditioning, towel dry hair, apply a small amount to the ends of your hair, apply any other styling aids and proceed with blow drying. i've found this so great through the warmer days as well now that there will be more scarves sweaters and coats rubbing up on your longer lengths of hair. it comes in a great travel size, that you can also shove in your purse in case of a static attack in the dressing room! (yes its okay to apply to dry hair as well)
Moroccanoil has a whole line of styling and care products that i also look forward to playing with. the oil treatment is so wonderful i had to share it with you!
Moroccanoil treatment has the ability to restore over-processed hair caused by everyday chemicals used in shampoos, color procedures and environmental factors. hair looks shinier and healthier after just one use. with multiple applications, hair continues to improve, alleviating split ends and brittle breakage. the oil instantly absorbs into the hair eliminating frizz, speeds up styling time by 40% and provides long-term conditioning to all hair types.
this product is so genius it's stored in an amber glass bottle to protect the oil from ultra-violet rays that cause oxidation and degradation. the whole line uses recycled materials where they can and none of it is animal ingredients or tested on animals. sounds like a win to me!

eye contact

your eyebrows are just as important to include in your beauty regiment as your haircut and hair color. they are a prominent part of your face and having them polished and maintained will make all the difference in the world.

first and foremost is the shape. the more angular your face, the softer your curve should be. if you have a round face, a sharper arch will elongate it. check into the salon and have your beauty pro guide you with the proper shape. tweeze gently between waxing appointments to keep the shape if you feel comfortable.
occasionally brows need to be trimmed. bushy eyebrows are frightening! simply comb the hairs up and trim with eyebrow scissors, the difference is phenomenal!
my favorite trick is adding color to your eyebrows! if your hair colorist is turning your dishwater blonde hair to a rich mocha brown the difference may be noticeable in your brows. an easy fix to this problem is pencil, a good trick to make sure the pencil doesn't look too harsh is to gently blend it in with a tissue to soften it. if you're more daring you can have your hairdresser apply hair color to your eyebrows. using professional hair color  is great, you don't have to reapply every morning. adding color to your face brightens your skin and makes your eyes pop!

get your face in the game!

faux banger

okay so as i was talking about before i've become obsessed with bangs. so for those of you that have shear shock here's an amazing alternative. jessica simpson has a line of different hair extensions. i've been a fan of her clip in extensions, an excellent alternative when you just can't make your hair grow! well her latest addition is a clip-in bang.

this is an excellent alternative if you're dieing to try those amazing bangs but you just don't have the guts to make the chop. three tiny clips hold this beauty in place. the best price i've found for them is on QVC. once you get them it's best to bring them into the salon and i can trim them up for you and you'll be fab in a flash!

find these bangs all over the november issue of LUCKY!
